Hello boaters! We hope this message finds you safe and healthy. Just like all of you, this has been a very unconventional year for us to say the least. Because of that we want to relay information to all who are planning on launching your boats this coming fall/winter. Many of you travel a great distance so we want to be clear on our current situation BEFORE you make your travel arrangements. We are doing our best to offer the safest, most accommodating boat storage yard in the south. This may look different for some of you this year as we adapt our Covid protocols based on recommendations made by the national and local authorities as well as our best management practices.
Please contact us before you come to your boat and plan to stay aboard so that you can find out what our protocols are! Our current protocols (hopefully subject to change soon) are as follows: no liveaboards; the community hut is closed except for bathroom use; face coverings are required inside as well as in situations where proper social distancing cannot be maintained. These will remain in effect until the local and national authorities change their stance on the presence of Covid-19.
We want nothing more than to see you enjoy your boat and the local waters. That is why we have stayed open throughout this pandemic, even though we reduced our hauling capacity significantly during the worst months and Tony ran the yard by himself after I tested positive and sent our employees home to await test results. However, from a liability standpoint please do not use our yard as a place to quarantine. Also please understand that if you test positive for Covid-19 or are experiencing flu-like symptoms, you cannot be in the yard. Because of our new reality we will be managing the yard this year with yard density as a main focus.
For many of you this does not significantly affect the way you use our yard. For others, this may alter your plans quite a bit. Please know we recognize that and have thought carefully about how to balance the demands of this pandemic and the convenience of our boaters! Thank you in advance for your understanding and we look forward to speaking with you before you come down!
Brady, Tony and the crew
